Guide to Leading Graduate School
Guide to Leading Graduate School
In mid-1990, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology started the Center of Excellence (COE) program to nurture for research and education institutions that possess the world’s highest competitiveness in Japan. Since then, the domestic universities that are exceptionally active and potential, have been competing in the effort to achieve COEs so that the faculty can stepped-up their researches and can cultivate creative human resources that would lead the world. Until now the faculty of the Department of Applied Chemistry at Kyushu University has been continuing to advance the research activities as well as the educational program. With these, we have been having the fortune to survive the harsh competition and to receive the honor of selection in COE of chemistry/materials science. The particular programs that have been accomplished by us include the 21st century COE “Functional Innovation of Molecular Informatics”, the global COE “Science for Future Molecular Systems”, and etc.
From 2013, the Kyushu University Leading Graduate Schools “Advanced Graduate Course on Molecular Systems for Devices” has been launched. This education program aims to train super leaders who will be able to work internationally with a pioneering spirit. With the program we hope that every students will be able to see bigger picture in research or development, while boosting the scientific potential particularly in the field of “molecular system devices”. Super leaders having the cutting-edge knowledge of molecular system devices, whose attitude is exceptionally enthusiasm, and who are trained personnel of research management, are the final goal. We hope you will study with us in the particular COE program.
